Village du Soir goes mobile
Village du Soir comprises three concert halls in Geneva, right next to the Servette stadium. A cultural venue that programmes year-round and needed a direct channel to its audience, not just a website, but a tool in every spectator's pocket.
Eclypsys handled the design and development of the V1 of their mobile application, available on iOS and Android since November 2025.
Why a native app
Village du Soir wanted two things: to be as close as possible to its customers, and to activate targeted marketing campaigns around its user base. A mobile site isn't enough for that, you need push notifications, home screen presence, and usage data that enables intelligent segmentation and re-engagement.
React Native allowed us to deliver iOS and Android in parallel, with a single codebase and a controlled budget.
Odoo at the heart of everything
The app is merely the visible part. Behind it, Odoo runs the entire operation:
- Ticketing, ticket sales, entry scanning, per-hall quota management
- 30 simultaneous points of sale, the bars and counters across the three halls run on Odoo POS, synchronised in real time
- Event management, programming, artists, schedules, all controlled from a single back-office
- CRM and marketing, customer segmentation by frequency, musical preferences, purchase history. The foundation for push and email campaigns
- Accounting and payroll, invoicing, bank reconciliation, staff payslips, all in Odoo
30 POS running simultaneously during an event is the kind of load that leaves no room for error. The Odoo infrastructure we deployed handles it without flinching.
What the app does
V1 covers the essentials:
- Event programme with integrated ticket purchasing
- Push notifications for new dates and offers
- User account with history
- Practical information (access, opening hours, venue map)
No gimmick features. The app does what it needs to do, well.
React Native + Odoo, the stack
The frontend is built in React Native, a pragmatic choice to cover iOS and Android without doubling the effort. The app communicates with Odoo via its REST API for all data (events, tickets, customer account).
The POS runs on the native Odoo app, configured for the 30 stations across the three halls. Beverage stock synchronisation and accounting consolidation happen in real time.
What's next
V1 is in production. V2 will come with what real-world usage teaches us, the usage data from the first months will guide priorities. That is how we like to work: ship, observe, iterate.
